There are umpteen examples of people who have got celebrity status just because of controversies in their life. Before talking about Baba Ramdev I would like to give examples like Rakhi Sawant, Veena Malik,  Rahul Mahajan, Dolly Bindra who have made to the top with the help of the controversies in their life.

There are many people who will doubt if  aforementioned people are really at the top of their profession. But you will have to accept the fact that despite of limited talent they are standing ahead of many talented people. Somehow they have been helped by the controversies in their life. Even the controversies in the life of these people seemed to be well planned and most of them are created in such a way that news channels relish in covering their life events.

Railway Recruitment Scam 2010

Railway Recruitment Exam has always been hub of scamsters and for last few years  people who are supposed to ensure cleanliness and transparency has converted the employment activties of railways as means of making easy money. Every year Indian Railway recruits thousands of people for different posts across India. Such a huge scale recruitment is done by Railway Recruitment Boards and  proper conduct of exam becomes responsibility of  regional RRB  staffs who work under the board members and chairman. Most of the time the senior memebers of RRB and staffs are those people who are willing to compromise their integrity to quest their greed.  In recent times almost all the RRBs have been in news for all the wrong reasons.

The only possible soution for curbing the rampant corruption would be to transfer the job of RRB recruitment to centralized organizations like SSC who have maintianed the sanctity of Recruitment Exams they have conducted. The recent dismissal of RRB Mumabi Chairman after reports of rigging in the exams which were conducted on 7th and 13th of June is just another chapter in the long history of  corruption and scam in Railway Recruitment. Ironically these exams were the first exams under the new centralized recruitment examination of Railways.

Nitish Kumar Returns Aid Money of Gujarat

In one of the most bizzare political twists Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar returned Rs. 5 Crore to Governement of Gujarat which was given by Narendra Modi during the floods in 2008.  Its quite amazing to find that Nitish wants to ostracize Narendra Modi but continue in a government which is supported by BJP.  There was nothing wrong in Narendra Modi claiming about helping Bihar as he also thanked Biharis for providing help in transfroming  Gujarat. It seems that the Bihar CM doesn’t want to be identified on the same side with Modi.

However, there is little logic in this strange behavior. Narendra Modi is adored by all his party members which includes Bihar deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi.  Nitish might claim that he and Narendra Modi are from different ideologies in his bid to claim the muslim votes in Bihar but as long as his government is getting support of BJP it would be nothing but  a great paradox.

General Studies Strategy for IAS, Civil Services UPSC Exam

The results of the Civil Services exam 2009 -2010 exam is clear proof of the fact that candidates who make strategic plan and work on that plan are likely to get success in the exam. Nowadays, the profile of succesful candidates in the IAS exam has changed completely. Earlier people from upper middle class or upper class used to have better success records. But now it seems that people coming from lower background dominate the list of succesful candidates.

Earlier there were no coaching institutes which could have provided the whole study content in easy to understand format.  But thanks to the onslaught of coaching institutes , mostly run by ex IAS aspirants ; even ordinary candidates are able to crack the civil services exam. The biggest myth that these coaching institutes have broken is that IAS is meant for brilliant students. Most of these coaching institutes have experts who are able to speculate the questions of  UPSC civil services exams. There are many candidates who have got success with optional subjects  which they studied  for only 6-12 months. The verdict is very clear you can get success in IAS irrespective of your family backround, academic background or intelligence level- just make sure that you are preparing under proper guidance. If you want sure success then please desist from doing academic research in the name of  IAS preparation,  civil services exam is meant for selecting candidates who are capable of running the lower level administrative units of the government. It never intends to select the prospective  Noble Prize aspirant.

Lalit Modi- Final Decision on 26th April 2010

Lalit Modi might be regretting the day he decided to discuss about the ownership struture of IPL Kochi Team on his Twitter Account. Although, he suceeded in his aim of  revealing the faces behind the IPL Kochi franchisee, he ensnared himself in a bigger mess. Quite unexpectedly now the government wants to investigate each and every piece of paper to find out about the financial deals done by Indian Premier League. There are no prizes to guess that the whole drama of  investigation is targeting only one person and that is Lalit Modi. After all, how can a government let a man go free who is responisble for embarassment and downfall of its minister. Despite of so many raids only thing that is coming out is that the income tax department would go for more intensified investigation. In other words the IT department is going to ensure disturbance in the life of IPL commissioner Lalit Mode who has seen nothing but success in last 3 years.

The fate of IPL commissioner is in such a situation that the BCCI which benefited enormously from his business acumen has turned its back towards him.  BCCCI is going to organize a meeting over present mess in the IPL on 26th April 2010. Most likely the meeting would end up in taking final decision against Lalit Mode who is more than likely to loose his present status in IPL.
